It’s Leather Pride Weekend in the city! Among other things, the 25th Annual Leather Pride Night is on Saturday, and the Folsom Street East street fair is on Sunday. Come join us on the upcoming Monday at 8 PM for another Summer CV munch, in the back of the Malibu Diner, at 163 W 23rd St, between 6th and 7th Ave.

The previous turnout was great, and I hope to see you all again! And of course, newcomers are highly welcome to come! ;)

Folsom Street East XII

June 22, 2008

Folsom Street East is coming this Sunday! From the Folsom Street East website:

Folsom Street East, New York’s premiere s/m-leather-fetish themed street festival, will hit the streets of Manhattan from 2 to 8pm on June 22. Produced by Gay Male S/M Activists (GMSMA), Folsom Street East is the largest outdoor event of its kind on the East Coast, attracting nearly 10,000 visitors. Folsom Street East takes place in New York City on West 28th Street, between 10th & 11th Avenues.

Performances already scheduled this year will feature indie rocker Bob Mould, Sylvia Tosun, Fredrick Ford, Trai La Trash, and The Imperial Court. Porn producer extraordinaire Chi Chi LaRue will serve as emcee.

The street will once again be lined with some 50 community groups and vendors that appeal to the LGBT and the kink communities. A one-stop shop for leather gear, porn, and toys. And no throw pillow, magic mops, or tube socks – promise!

And given that this is all part of leather pride weekend, check out the other events section and see what other filthy fun is in store.

Suggested donation is $10.

Some background information about Folsom Street East from their website:

GMSMA held the first Folsom Street East in 1997. Named after the famous Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco, the block party was an instant success, bringing our S/M-Leather-Fetish brothers and sisters together for a great celebration, while raising money to support worthy causes. Over the past 11 years, the success of FSE has enabled GMSMA to donate more than $250,000 to support organizations such as The LGBT Community Center, the NYC Gay & Lesbian Anti-Violence Project (AVP), and the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom (NCSF).
