Summer CV begins, now DSD-NYC

May 10, 2010
8:00 PMto10:00 PM

With the end of the school year, yet another set of official of CV meetings has come to a glorious close, leaving many CV’ers with a dearth of kinky social interaction.

Summer CV to the rescue! Now with a new name — DSD (and a website)!

We’ll be having weekly, unofficial, meetups at the Good Stuff Diner, every Monday at 8pm.

What better way to enjoy the blazing heat of an early summer?

Location: 109 West 14th Street, between 6th and 7th Ave.

Summer CV Movie Night

July 20, 2009
5:00 PMto10:00 PM

Join us for an unusual Summer CV this Monday as we head to Bryant Park’s free movie night for a picnic and an outdoor screening of Harold and Maude, a 1971 cult classic that explores themes of youth culture, sexuality, and love still relevant today. If you haven’t seen this movie yet, you must! If you have, then come enjoy it all over again!

We’ll meet around 5 PM to stake out a spot on the lawn and have a picnic, so bring whatever food you’d like to eat yourself or share with the group. The movie itself will start at sundown (around 8 or 9 PM).

If you’re coming for the first time simply ask people, “Are you the group from CV?” and you’ll have no trouble finding us. We hope to see you, and your friends, all there!

2009 NYC Gay Pride March

June 28, 2009
12:00 PMto6:00 PM

2009 Grand Marshals: Dustin Lance Black, Cleve Jones, Ann Kronenberg & Hon. NYS Gov. David Paterson

Route: 52nd & 5th avenue, down Fifth Avenue, ending at Greenwich Avenue

The March began as an annual civil rights demonstration beginning the year after the Stonewall Riots in 1970. Over the years its purpose has broadened to include recognition of the fight against AIDS and to remember those we have lost to the illness, violence and neglect. It has also evolved to include being a celebration of our lives and our community.

To watch the March step-off you should be in the 50s or upper 40s on 5th Avenue. For larger crowds and high energy, anywhere in the village is ideal. For smaller crowds, many enjoy watching in the 30s, 20s, and teens on 5th Avenue.

This event is free and open to the public. No tickets are necessary. More info here.
